Lise Arin discusses her newly released in paperback novel Matilda Empress with Karen Stefano.
Lise Arin has a PhD in English Literature from Columbia, and an undergraduate degree in History and Literature from Harvard. She has two children, and lives with her husband in New York City. She likes jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, rap music, post-it notes, red pens, penguin classics, sushi, asparagus, black coffee, French wine, hiking, beach walks and firelight. She loves to throw dinner parties, although she canโt cook. She hates parades, circuses, suntans, tofu, bean sprouts, avocado and insects, and isnโt all that fond of driving. This is her first novel, although it has been in the making for twenty years.
Karen Stefano is the author of the forthcoming memoir, Vigilance: An Autobiography of Fear (Rare Bird Books 2019). She is also the author of the short story collection The Secret Games of Words (1GlimpsePress 2015) and the how-to business writing guide, Before Hitting Send (Dearborn 2011).
